​She began her career as an environmental officer in waste management at theDepartment of Environmental Affairs in 1998. She also worked as auditor (ISO 14001) at SABS. Her role included conducting third party audits in mining, petrochemical and service companies. From SABS she re-joinedthe Department of Environmental Affairsin the capacity of deputy director where her responsibilities included climate change response and international negotiations.  She then joined the Anglo American Platinum Polokwane Smelter as an Environmental Coordinator.
 
Steve Nicholls Steve Nicholls

​Steve Nicholls is the Programme Manager for Climate Change, Water and Biodiversity at the National Business Initiative (NBI).  In this role Steve runs the programmes that harness the collective effort of member companies across the areas of Climate Change, Water and Biodiversity.  This affords him excellent exposure to company best practice as well as the opportunity to connect NBI members with Academic and Civil Society specialists as well as a number of large Donors working in the area of sustainability.  Key focus areas are reporting and disclosure, finance, policy and monitoring and evaluation of carbon emissions.  These projects include the CDP Water and Climate Change programmes, probably the largest repository of corporate climate change and water data in South Africa.  Recently he has been working with the financial services sector looking at the barriers to the availability and uptake of low-carbon finance.
 
Faiek Davids Faiek Davids

​Mr. Faiek Davids is currently the Deputy Head of the Special Investigating Unit since 2003, though there was an absenting period from mid June 2009 to May 2013. The SIU has developed a reputation as one of the country's premier anti-corruption agencies during Mr Davids' tenure.   Mr Davids also enjoyed an extensive previous career with the National Prosecuting Authority and the Scorpions which spanned 15 years, wherein he played an extensive role in its inception and policy development.

Sobantu Tilayi Sobantu Tilayi

​Sobantu Tilayi is Chief Operations Officer at the South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA). As COO, Sobantu is responsible for the overall operations of the organisation which include overseeing the development and repositioning of maritime clusters. He is also responsible for the reviewing of policies and programmes that address poverty and skills development, areas that have also become a national priority. Before joining SAMSA, Sobantu worked for Transnet where he was appointed Technical Manager and later promoted to National Operations Manager for Marine Services.

​In 2002 Tumelo joined the Armscor Business as a Test Technician for Electromagnetic Compatibility and Interference (EMC/EMI). In 2006 he joined SABS as a Senior Technician responsible for maintaining the EMC/EMI accreditation of the laboratory which includes implementing and maintaining the laboratory quality management systems.
